Resolution Revisited

For those that have been following along this year, you might recall my New Year’s resolution. It’s been both a great and terrible thing thus far: great in the sense that it’s made me more productive and disciplined, but terrible due to the stress and the inability to really spend some time on any given project. My freelance workload has also increased lately, so I’m drawing every day in copious amounts, but it’s not necessarily things I can currently post. Add in teaching and I’m currently leading a full, rich, professional life.

In conclusion: in only 100 days, the resolution has paid off and while I’m not abandoning it, I’m thinking about tweaking it slightly. I have plans for a graphic novel I’d like to self-publish by the fall and I’m getting back into screen printing after too long away, both of which I’ll gladly chronicle here for the curious to see. What I won’t be doing is churning out some half-baked doodles that do nothing to make me a better artist out of obligation to a challenge that had served it’s purpose.

Don’t ya’ll worry. The best is yet to come from Kate in 2009.
